  • What is Mondly?

    Mondly is a language learning platform available on iOS , Android and web , loved by 25 million users in over 190 countries. Since its launch in 2013, Mondly grew gradually proving that “innovation” is, undoubtedly, one of its core values.


    In 2016, the creators of Mondly launched the first Chatbot with speech recognition for language learning and a year later users could already enjoy MondlyVR - the first virtual reality language app with speech recognition.

  • What languages can I learn with Mondly?

    Mondly gives you the possibility to learn 33 languages from 33 native languages : British English, American English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Turkish, Arabic, Persian, Hebrew, Portuguese, Dutch, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Greek, Romanian, Afrikaans, Croatian, Polish, Bulgarian, Czech, Hungarian, Ukrainian, Vietnamese, Hindi, Indonesian.

  • What is the difference between Free and Premium content?

    If you join Mondly as a free user you get access to:

    • - The first section which offers 6 lessons, one conversation and one vocabulary section along with a Chatbot conversation
    • - A new lesson every single day because practice makes perfect
    • - Weekly quizzes and monthly challenges to measure and test your progress

    Premium content gives you access to a complete language learning journey that includes:

    • - 250 lessons organized into practical topics to help you tackle real-life situations
    • - 33 conversations for particular day-to-day scenarios to achieve native-like fluency
    • - 36 vocabulary builders so you can develop a strong sense of language

  • How do I sign in / sign out?

    Sign out:

    • 1. Open the Mondly app

    • 3. Tap 'My Account'

  • How do I change my profile picture?
    • 1. Open the Mondly app
    • 2. Tap on your profile (the circle in the top-left corner)
    • 3. Tap 'My Account'
    • 4. Tap your profile picture
    • 5. Choose an action: 'Choose photo' or 'Take photo'
    • 6. Load your picture and tap 'Save'
  • What do I do if I change my phone and I do not want to lose my progress or purchase?

    Your progress and purchase are both linked to your Mondly account. If you want to access them on your new device, just sign in with your Mondly account.

  • How do I check my score?
    • 1. Open the Mondly app
    • 2. On the bottom of the screen, tap 'Statistics' (3rd tab)
    • 3. You'll see the all-time score, your daily lesson streak along with your level

  • How do I change my language?
    • 1. Open the Mondly app
    • 2. Tap on your profile (the circle in the top-left corner)
    • 3. Under 'Settings' select the language that you'd like to learn (if the language is not there, slide left and choose 'add language')
  • How do I change the difficulty level?
    • 1. Open the Mondly app
    • 2. Tap on your profile (the circle in the top-left corner)
    • 3. Under 'Settings' select the language for which you would like to change the difficulty level (if the language is not there, slide left and choose 'add language')

  • How do I type in non-Latin languages?

    In order to type in non-Latin languages, download the specific keyboard from your devices's settings.

  • How do I switch to Latin / Non-Latin transcript?

    In order to switch to Latin / Non-Latin transcript, tap the upper-right button in any lesson.

  • How do I review what I've learned?
    • 1. Open the Mondly app
    • 2. On the bottom of the screen, tap 'Statistics'
    • 3. Tap the neural connections in the brain and review the content
  • How do I turn off notifications?

    From my phone's settings:

    • 1. Open the Settings app and tap 'Notifications'
    • 2. Tap the app of which notifications you want to silence
    • 3. Slide the 'Allow Notifications' toggle to the 'Off' position

    From the Mondly app:

    • 1. Tap on your profile (the circle in the top-left corner)
    • 2. Tap 'Learning reminders'
    • 3. Toggle off 'Turn off reminders'
  • What is the role of the stars in some of my lessons?

    The role of the stars is to measure your progress in certain lessons. Based on the number of mistakes you're making, the stars are taken away. If the progress in the lesson was not enough, you'll be asked to repeat it.

  • Technical Issues

  • My microphone is not working
    • 1. Open the Settings app on your device
    • 2. Scroll down and tap the Mondly app
    • 3. Turn on Speech Recognition (Microphone)
  • I've bought a subscription but it's not working
    • 1. Open the Mondly app
    • 2. Tap on your profile (the circle in the top-left corner)
    • 3. Scroll down to 'Restore'
    • 4. Tap 'Restore' in the upper-corner of the panel (without choosing a category)
    • 5. Wait for the restore to complete
  • My progress is not synchronized on all my devices. What should I do?

    In order to sync your progress, sign out of your Mondly account and sign back in on the device on which the progress is not displayed correctly.

  • My app has no sound or pictures
    • 1. Open the Mondly app
    • 2. Tap on your profile (the circle in the top-left corner)
    • 3. Scroll down to 'Restore'
    • 4. Tap 'Restore' and download again the category that is missing the sounds/ pictures
